Raju Chinthala, Treasurer

Raju's journey began in a small village in India, where his grandmother, despite lacking formal education, recognized the transformative power of knowledge. She ensured that Raju’s father received an education, setting the stage for Raju’s pursuit of a double master’s degree in speech and hearing, as well as business. Encouraged by his family, Raju embarked on a new chapter in America, laying the foundation for a remarkable 30-year career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, entrepreneur, and civic leader.

In 1996, Raju began his professional journey as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Kokomo, Indiana, following a move from Michigan to Indianapolis. Over the years, his dedicated service to the healthcare sector helped thousands of individuals with speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, and hearing difficulties. As a resident of Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, Raju remained deeply committed to serving his beloved communities. Leveraging his business acumen, he played a pivotal role in driving astronomical growth in Indiana. His endeavors included forging partnerships, managing hotel franchises, facilitating international corporation expansions through foreign direct investment, and spearheading numerous successful philanthropic initiatives. Through his tireless efforts, Raju made significant contributions to healthcare, education, and revenue investments, surpassing $500 million. Furthermore, as a Senior Advisor for India at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the founder and president of the Indiana India Business Council, Raju fostered strong cultural, economic, educational and sports ties between Indiana and India, further strengthening the economic bridge between the two.

In 2003, Raju joined the Republican Party and subsequently served in various capacities within the Indiana Republican Party. He actively participated in city, state, and federal campaigns, serving as a Precinct Comitteeman and offering invaluable support as a fiscal conservative and dedicated volunteer. His commitment to upholding the Constitution, serving the people, advocating for limited government intrusion, responsible tax policies, nurturing the future generation, and supporting veterans and military personnel has been the driving force behind his vision. Currently, he serves as the Treasurer for the Hamilton County Republican Party since 2018.

Raju’s exceptional contributions to his local community over the past three decades have garnered widespread recognition and numerous accolades. Notably, he has received the prestigious Indiana distinguished service award, the Sagamore of the Wabash, and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his outstanding accomplishments.

Raju resides in Carmel with his wife, Dr. Prasanna Chinthala, a Geriatric Psychiatrist. Together, they raise their son Anoop, a medical student at IU School of Medicine, and their beloved dog, Snowball, a mini-American Eskimo. Inspired by his remarkable journey and motivated by his unwavering belief in creating a better life for all, Raju remains committed to giving back and making an even greater impact.
