Dear Friends and Fellow Republicans,

I write to you today deeply concerned about ReCenter Indiana’s recent decision to hire Jocelyn Vare as their Executive Director. This appointment represents a fundamental contradiction to their stated mission as a “nonpartisan” organization.

ReCenter Indiana claims to be a leading nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to reminding elected officials to recenter on the priorities of the people. However, their selection of Ms. Vare calls this commitment into serious question.

As the former Hamilton County Democratic Chairwoman, Jocelyn Vare is one of the most partisan political figures in our state. During her tenure leading the local Democratic Party, she consistently pushed out-of-touch progressive candidates and an agenda that was soundly rejected by Hamilton County voters. Under her leadership, Democrats actually lost seats in Hamilton County precisely because her hyperliberal approach to politics was so far removed from the values and priorities of our community.

How can an organization that claims to champion nonpartisan solutions credibly hire someone whose political record is defined by divisive partisan politics? This hiring decision undermines ReCenter Indiana’s entire premise and exposes their claims of nonpartisanship as nothing more than political theater.

The people of Hamilton County deserve better than organizations that masquerade as nonpartisan while promoting the same failed liberal agenda that voters have consistently rejected. This appointment is a disservice to the genuine, bipartisan solutions our community needs.

I call on ReCenter Indiana to reconsider this appointment if they are truly committed to the nonpartisan mission they claim to represent. Otherwise, they should be honest about their partisan agenda and stop misleading the public about their true intentions.
